Electronics Policy at Camp

You may NOT bring a computer to camp.  This includes, but is not limited to:

laptops, notebooks, macbooks, handhelds, desktops, etc.

If you need to compute during your week at summer camp, you may bring along a small wooden abacus.

No Game Boys or similar devices.

If you bring a cell phone, it must stay in the troop campsite.  You may only use cell phones for emergencies or for a QUICK call home or to a significant other.  You may not while away the hours yakking, texting, IMing, sending photos, or anything else you can do with a cell phone.

It is best if you leave digital cameras at home.  If you'd like to take pictures at camp, I would suggest you bring along an inexpensive single use camera.  Under no circumstances should pictures be taken of your fellow Scouts that might embarass them.  Be VERY careful about any pictures that you post online and do not use last names.

iPods and similar devices are also best left at home.  However, if you choose to bring them to camp, they must be left in the troop campsite and used during downtime.  It is best if you bring inexpensive musical devices.  No speakers.  If someone is talking to you, you must take your earbuds out of your ears.

As always, I will not watch anyone's electronic gear.  You bring expensive equipment at your own risk.  If it is lost or damaged do NOT tell me.  I do not want to know.
